The only thing worse than the flames play this year is the fact that they were the Oilers and McDavid's turning point. The Oilers getting a 4th 1st overall pick as good as McDavid after being at the trough for so many years seriously makes me want to watch the NHL a little less.

Nah. They always had talent, just really poor management, coaching and ownership. Firing Lowe and MacT were more important than all the #1 picks combined in the quest to become less no good.

Edmonton has a long way to go, but i think finally they might be headed in the right direction. They hired a good coach. The GM seems alright. That said anything was an improvement from former GM. At least this GM does not have a problem sending $4.5 million to the minors and $3.3 millioin to the pressbox. Have to think if he was hired mid season last year he would have bought both of them out in the summer. He was to new to the organization to start buying out high priced d-men.
