Default Halloween 2015 Pre-game Thread

It seems every year in the Halloween GDT there are a lot of tips and suggestions; however many of them come too late for that year. This thread is meant for questions, tips, and advice.

I'll start with my question. In the past I had often given out full sized chocolate bars. I had done this by finding places that sold the bars for around 50¢ each; and given the low kid turnout I didn't have to break the bank. Last year I couldn't find any at that price; in the past Superstore had 16 packs for just over $8 each. This year they are $13. Anybody have any suggestions?

My best tip is to live in an apartment building. I'm a curmudgeon.

Honestly though, I liked giving out candy when I lived in a normal house

When I was a kid, a drink was always a nice change of pace.

I think drinks might be a bad idea. A can of pop is pretty heavy; especially if they get more than one. Plus the Halloween bags get dragged and bumped around; I'd hate to see a pop explode soaking a kid's haul.

Thought I saw 6 packs of full sized kitkats for $2 at Walmart a few weeks ago but may be wrong.

as a kid I remember getting a can of pop from a guy on Halloween - in my mind he was a hero! my parents rarely gave us pop so it was a HUGE treat

for full sized chocolate bars have you checked Costco?

What do you mean "start?"

Depending on the weather, it can sometimes be beer; sometimes it's hot chocolate that has been spiked.

You work right beside a Goodwill! Ask them if they have one.
