Western Conference Standings Predictions
Here's the way I think it ends up:
Central:
Jets
Predators
Wild
Stars
Blues
Blackhawks
Avalanche
Pacific:
Ducks
Flames
Kings
Sharks
Oilers
Canucks
Coyotes
Top 3 from each division make the playoffs, the extra 2 teams are from the central.

-----------

Pacific:

Other than the Coyotes, I predict every team in the west is under 105 Points and over 80 points.

Wow, Cali. Bold prediction having the Hawks miss the post season.
That division is hard to predict though.

Stanley cup hangover and a bunch of key players left. They struggled at times last year too, but hit the groove at the right time. I just don't think they have enough in the tank, nor enough depth to get it done.
Jets are going to surprise a lot of people. I think you see big years from both Scheifele and Ehlers.

I think you meant to say, "that's BOLD!"
With the Central division so good and the departure of Sharp, Saad and Oduya and the Kane situation, it's very possible for Chicago to lose 5-6 more games and miss the playoffs as a result. I know they brought in Arnisimov and Panarin, but I think they're a bit of a wild card this year.

The biggest thing that might make things interesting is if Colorado and Edmonton win more games. Would lower the points required to make the playoffs.
I just don't see 5 teams coming out of the central this year. Didn't the oilers lose all their games to 3 of the teams in that division last year? If that changes thats a lot less points for them.
Anaheim
LA
Calgary
Edmonton
SJ
Vancouver
Phoenix
Blues
Preds
hawks
Wild
Stars
Jets
Avs
4 from each.

I think the Jets are going to surprise you when they fail to make the playoffs. Absolutely zero chance they win their division, I would be willing to make a sizeable bet they won't. Not enough scoring depth and as long as big Buff is back there taking stupid penalties every game they just don't have the tools.

See, you lost me at this point. Here is the projected lineup.
Ladd-Little-Wheeler
Perreault-Scheifele-Stafford
Ehlers-Lowry-Burmistrov
Thorburn-Petan-Peluso
There's 3 pretty scary offensive lines to deal with.
Plus their defense is pretty mobile and offensively oriented
Myers-Enstrom
Byfuglien-Trouba
Stuart-Chiarot
The only question mark is goaltending, but I think Hellebuyck takes over at some point, and Hutchinson has shown that he can handle the load for long stretches.

Those are not scary offensive forward lines. Scheiffle is young and talented, but not scary. Stafford hasn't scored over 30 in forever. Ehlers is unproven, Burmistrov hasn't done anything in the NHL yet to suggest he suddenly will now. Your overselling things here.

People are writing off the Hawks, but they added some young depth to help them. Losing Sharp and Saad hurts but they gained depth, especially at center ice.
Teravainen, Panarin, Baun, and Dano are all good young talent that was added to the team
Added Anisimov, and Daley.
Still have Hossa, Toews, Kane, Keith, and Seabrook.
That team will still be dangerous.

really difficult to predict the Central, outside of the Avs all of these teams could easily make the playoffs. Pacific is a lot easier to predict IMO, I'm only unsure about Canucks/Oilers. And honestly, who gives a crap who finishes 5th and who finishes 6th.

I think the Ducks and Flames will be the class of the Pacific division then a huge drop off after that. That third spot will be hotly contested in my opinion between LA, San Jose and Edmonton.... not because they're all that good, but because they're all equally mediocre.
To me Phoenix and Vancouver might be the worst two teams in the league this season.

I dont see Winnipeg winning the central but they're a lot better than the press or some are giving them credit for. The Hawks will have a cup hangover and I don't think Dallas is nearly as good as some are saying.
Should be a fun year. Will be ultra close. I could see the Jets also easily missing the post season if Pavelec goes and Pavelec's up the joint.
