Heritage Inn International Hot Air Balloon Festival - Sept 23-27

Again this year High River, Alberta will welcome the Heritage Inn International Balloon Festival featuring the 2015 Canadian National Championship – September 23 – 27, 2015.

Sponsored by Heritage Inn Hotels, this event will host 27 balloons including International pilots from Belgium, United Kingdom, USA (Alaska,Colorado, Montana, South Dakota) and some of the finest Canadian balloon pilots competing for the Canadian National Championship . The winner of the Canadians will qualify to fly at the Worlds in Saga, Japan Oct 30 – Nov 7, 2016.

That looks really cool.

I've wondered why I always saw balloons in the sky as a kid, but never do now. I had a coworkers who had bought a balloon trip, and was up to 3 years of trying to use it because they always got cancelled for weather.

I wonder if because it's out of the city they can go in more weather conditions?
