...is HBO's The Wire.

I'm making my way through this series via DVD and dear god its good. It has been heavily hyped in publications like EW but largely ignored by audiences. And after watching it - its a damn shame.

This may be the best show on TV.

Great characters, fantastic season-long storylines that reward the loyal viewer and tremendous acting

Reminds me a lot of Homicide - Life in the Street.

Check it out folks - you will not be dissapointed.

The best show that I am not watching is House MD. I caught one or two episodes throughout the season and thought it was fantastic...

The Best TV Show You're Not Watching...

is Extras, the new show by Ricky Gervais, the man behind (& in) the original British Office.

It's not on in North America yet, but when it is check it out.

IMO, it's his best yet.

First three posts I AGREE WITH FULLY!

Jiri, The Wire is SUCH A GREAT SHOW eh? I got Season 1, not knowing how good the show was. And DAMN, I was hooked and watched it all in like 2 days.
Great show, trying to get my hands on Saeson 2, but I just can't justify spending 100 bucks on Season 2. Would much rather....ah-hem....back it up.
But GREAT show....the one scene, I think S01 Episode 3....where they are investigating the dead woman's appartment. Greatest scene I've seen inawhile, I STILL laugh at that one. Greatest use of the word "fata" ever.

24....well goes without saying, i've been a fan since the 3rd episode of that. Will ALWAYS be hooked!!

House is such a great show as well...Hugh Laurie plays the part just great. Hilarious at time....

Same here, maybe caught 1 1/3 episodes, made a mental note to continously watch it and it just never happened.

The best show that I'm not watching (as Alluded to by Peter Griffin) is Keen Eddie which FOX cancelled 2 years ago.

is Arrested Development.

FOX/Global is showing four episodes every Friday night. But go out and get the first season DVD so you can get all the inside jokes.

Entourage has quickly become my favorite show. The cast of this show is just awesome. Very funny, and well done every week. Jeremy Piven is so good as the agent, and Matt Dillon's brother does an very good job of playing the movie star's less famous brother.

The Shield, I know lots of people catch it when its on Global, but the fourth season that just finished on FX was unreal, some of the most Television I have watched in a while, great show, great characters, great writing, and Michael Chiklis ROCKS......the guy is awesome, I know video stores rent out the first three seasons and the fourth should be on DVD sometime in the winter..........

This is the best show you are not watching!!!!!!!

Gotta agree with House. I didn't catch a single episode all season. Then, one boring Tuesday night this summer, I gave it a try. Excellent show. And the nice thing is every episode I see this summer is like a new episode to me.

Another show I just tried was Chappelle's show. His sketches are friggin' hilarious. As usual I jump on these things kinda late and the show is no longer in production. But if you've never seen it, give a few of the clips on Comedy Central's website a try (if you can excuse the terrible website design: who includes advertisements with audio in the same window as your video player?)

Entourage is awesome. The best show on TV and I watch a ton of TV.

I loved it when I was down in the States and am p*ssed that I had to leave just before the start of the second season.

Nobody mentioned 'Oz'?

It is a series revolving around various charachters and gangs in a prison. I'm not very good at hyping things up, but it is on Showcase and the DVD series is how I got hooked.

Edit: I just realized that nobody is watching it as it has already ended. It is a 6 season series but I would still suggest anybody who is interested to go have a look.

I'd have to agree with those that threw out Ricky Gervais's Extras and House MD on Fox. House is just a fantastic, well written show, I'm just impressed Fox put a great well written show on the air that isn't Celebrity Boot Camp 4 or something like that.

Has anyone seen 30 Days from Super Size Me's Morgan Spurlock?

An unscripted, documentary-style program where an individual is inserted into a lifestyle that is completely different from his or her upbringing, beliefs, religion or profession for 30 days.
A co-worker was talking about it last week so I downloaded two episodes and watched one the other day. It had a normal run of the mill American Christian put into a Muslum family for 30 days. Kind of contrived but it's an eye opener for those involved. I'll be looking for the DVD set whenever that comes out.

I'm not watching season two of Battlestar Galactica right now because freakin' Space Channel won't air it until January while the USA is seeing it right now on Sci-Fi!!
