Men's 100 meter sprints start on Wednesday and even though Andre De Grasse is only 20, and Canada loves to pile massive expectations on our young sports stars, I cannot help but be excited for this young man. He's the only Canadian since Surin and Bailey to run sub 10 second times. He is only 20 and had only been running for 3 years! Future is bright for Andre.

The TV schedule is horrid. Most of what little coverage has been tape delayed. I really don't get why. I've been wanting to watch a lot more than I have.

Terrible coverage by CBC. No replays last night. No idea what happened to allow the runner from first to make it home. Embarrassing.

Good on Canada baseball though! Back 2 back!!

People can't have it both ways.
For years all people could say was they had no interest in watching, had no desire to pay attention to Guadalajara and didn't tune into Glasgow.

CBC follows the same routine with a decent online package and coverage if the most popular events. Suddenly there us a demand for wall to wall coverage?

All of those demands are meaningless if the same isn't done for Gold Coast in 2018 and Lima in 2019.

These are on home soil. Did more Canadians watch the 2010 Winter Olympics than the 2006 Games in Torino? I don't have the numbers, but suspect there was substantially more interest for the games in Vancouver.

This is the largest multi-sport event ever held in Canada in terms of number of athletes. If you relegate these games to web content only, there will be no fan interest in Gold Coast 2018 or Lima 2019.

Watched Brazil/USA basketball game last night, or at least most of it. USA team looks like one that was just thrown together. I think they made some errors in choosing Bobby Brown and Malcolm Brogdon to run the team. They guy in my avatar would've been the better choice I think. He facilitates play. These guys are just trying to score.

Vitor Benite.....you are amazing.

USA/Canada tonight. Winner will play Brazil (likely) for Gold.

Yep, a great finish! De Grasse wins gold again, and does it from the 8th lane

Why must the last minute of a basketball game always take 5 hours?
