Burned bridges in Tampa for a little more than a season in New York.

Yeah, but his demanding a trade worked out very well for Tampa.

Haha! Good.

I love that his last action in the NHL was getting eliminated by the team he burned.

Helped Tampa get Mitchell Stephens, Anthony Cirelli, Dominik Masin, Jonathan MacLeod, and Ryan Callahan.

And Tampa still ended up making the Finals this year without him.

That's surprising. Thought he'd stick around for another year or two. Nice career, though.

I never had anything against him. But he started to GMG with the whole Team Canada thing and how he left the 'Bolts. Couldn't stand him after that. But next stop for him is the HOF. What a stellar career he's had.

Prob hoping to get a big money contract somewhere. When the offers were not rolling on, decided to call it quits.

all of this.

maybe we don't have all the facts about what happened in Tampa/Team Canada, but towards the end of a stunning career the tears were just too large that I honestly don't care about him.

Odd to me you'd care that much. Guy asked for a trade and went and played hockey somewhere else. Happens all the time. I'm sure you think you know exactly how it all went down but truth of the matter is none of us do.

Hope the pic of his tree trunk legs gets retired from the internet also.

Did we ever learn why he wanted out of tampa so badly?

Surprised he didn't cry his way onto another cup contender.

I have never liked St. Louis for various reasons, one of which is 04 obviously, but I always respected him.. until he pulled that crap in Tampa. Overall I am just glad he is gone.

Because Steve Yzerman hurt his feelings.

Yes. Seriously.
