This mascot is ####ing sick. If I saw that thing running up and down the field being an annoying little pisshead all game, I'd buy season tickets that same day.

The name Partick Thistle bothers me way more than the mascot.

Looks like a cross between Lisa Simpson and the Fffffuuuu guy.

I'll reserve judgment until I've seen his dance moves -- that is where Scorch excels...

I actually watched Partick Thistle on Sportsnet World on the weekend just for the mascot.

The guy in that mascot costume is an absolute lunatic.

I read the linked article and all the posts to this thread, and I still have no idea who Partick Thistle is.

Partick Thistle Football Club are a professional football club from Glasgow, Scotland. Despite their name, the club are based at Firhill Stadium in the Maryhill area of the city, and have not played in Partick since 1908. Wikipedia

Read the article in the OP. The Op would have done well to quote. Its so badass:

Quote:
Design and technology blog Gizmodo declared: "Partick Thistle's Kingsley is terror mascot-ified".

The verdict of Irish design student Aaron Roles was: "Nightmares are made of this".

Another tweet by shurelyshummishtake said: "Let's see who's brave enough to crack the 'Partick Thistle Nil' jokes now that Kingsley is on the scene".

Numerous posts on Twitter have likened Kingsley to the infant Maggie from The Simpsons.

I can't get over how simple and awesome this mascot is. It has such a punchable face.

I'm a fan of David Shrigley's work, and if I had to imagine a Shrigley-designed mascot, it would evoke exactly what this mascot does. I love the photos with the other fans with Kingsley masks. A whole stadium full of fans wearing those masks would be terrifying.

Here's Kingsley's bio on the official Patrick Thistle page:

Quote:
Hello, I’m Kingsley.

In June 2015 I moved to Glasgow, from sunny California, with Kingsford Capital to become Partick Thistle’s mascot.

There were a lot of mean things said about me when I first appeared, but I’m not too concerned because I know it’s what’s on the inside that counts. I’m a nice guy really – just a bit misunderstood – and I hope all the Junior Jags will be looking forward to sharing cuddles and high fives with me all throughout the season.

I might look a bit angry but I’m really very approachable so don’t be scared to come and say hello if you see me out and about.

I’m just new to this game but hopefully all the Thistle fans will realise that I’m always happy when the Jags are winning and we can all be friends!

See you next season,

Kingsley

It's all fun and games until he's photographed standing over the corpses of those children.
