I believe in the Pony Power

This should be unanimous or darn close. Only question is who is the back-up: Lee or Griffin.
The Jays have had a pretty cruddy history of Shortstops.

Alex Gonzalez was a pretty good defensive shortstop in his time. I always thought he was underrated. If this is unanimous I nominate him as the backup.
Ok, maybe Griffin should be the backup.

For all the flack Reyes gets he is easily the second best player at the position. Tulowitzky could be the best though.

Tulo should be the backup even though hes been here for 2 weeks. He's already 8th on the Jays for WAR this season with Toronto.

Glass gets the vote obviously. The guy had the lightest grip on a baseball bat (seemingly) I had ever seen.
As kids we used to mimic the pro's batting stances and swings. You would try and guess who it was. Is that still a thing or does every swing and stance look the same now?

I was never a Manny Lee fan.
Griffin was great D, he just had trouble at bat, so Alfredo would be my backup.

Easiest poll ever. And as much as I liked the less-crappy Alex Gonzalez, that dude could strike out with the best of them. Not only did he accumulate multiple golden sombreros, the guy once struck out SIX TIMES in one game. Still, just for the sake of balancing eras, I'd take him as my backup.

All-time Jays: SS
Just to be clear we've pencilled Tony Fernandez in as the winner?

We almost should be voting for backup shortstop - if this one isn't unanimous, then I don't know what to say!

The next one isn't going to be much of a contest either. Or at least it shouldn't be.

Tulo is the best SS we have ever had. Fernandez got my vote since no Tulo.

I agree that Tulo should be on the list (as a possible backup). Assuming this is a virtually unanimous vote, how about adding Tulo and voting for 2nd?

lol, this list.
So glad we brought him back for 93. He deserved to win it with the Jays. On field aside, Tony Fernandez as an asset was critical to those championships.

Guys, Tulo has played a whopping 13 games for the Jays. Not the sample size required to be looking at all-time Jays shortstops.

It's not like he doesn't have a major league track record though.
Hamilton hasn't played a game for the Flames, but fans don't seem to have any trouble pencilling him in as the #3.
