Default Amazing Race - Season 27 (Fall 2015)

So, it looks like the next season of The Amazing Race starts up on Friday. We should have time to do another draft. Post if you're interested in participating.

We can do it the same as previous seasons where we do a snake draft with each participant picking two teams.

----------

Here are the teams. As always, there are 11 teams, so there's room for 11 people in the draft...

Alex & Adam (#TheCousins) -- Cousins who each have a form of dwarfism, which limits their height to 5'0".

Cindy & Rick (#ChacAttack) -- Married couple. She's a dentist and he's an OB/GYN.

Denise & James (#TeamAlabama) -- Mother and Son. He's gay and she's super-religious. When he told her he's gay, she told him he's going to Hell.

Ernest & Jin (#TheDancers) -- Brothers and professional dancers.

Jazmine & Danielle (#TheTrackStars) -- Best friends and roommates who both ran track in college.

Justin & Diana (#TheGreenTeam) -- Engaged couple. He proposed through some sort of Amazing Race video that went viral. Probably not a good sign that their hashtag is something boring like "TheGreenTeam".

Kelly & Shevonne (#TeamTMZ) -- Co-workers at TMZ, so presumably, they're awful people.

Kelsey & Joey (#TheReporters) -- Dating co-workers. Work together as news reporters at a tv station in Santa Barbara, CA.

Logan & Chris (#ThePaparazzi) -- Dating paparazzi, so presumably, they're worse people than the ones who work at TMZ.

Tanner & Josh (#TeamTexas) -- Best friends.

Tiffany & Krista (#TheCheerleaders) -- Friends and former NY Jets cheerleaders.

Here's a video introducing the teams that isn't region-blocked: http://www.etonline.com/tv/171156_me...ason_27_teams/

So, it looks like the interest level is pretty low for this one. I guess we can just keep this as the discussion thread for the season.

Maybe a few more people will express interest after tonight's episode airs and we can do a draft of the remaining teams next week.

I find the American version of this show way more interning than the Canadian version. Tonight was a great premiere!

I just saw this thread now. If more interest I'd be down

Watched last night. Justin is not going to be able to handle the stress of the race...so many tears.

Cheerleaders are annoying but not as annoying as the Dentist/Doctor.

I have interest as well...never realized the season was starting until I saw it was recorded!

I like watching both but agree the American Version is better.

The Canada one is cool because we can often relate to the locations and the challenges.

I have loved TAR since the beginning, but the last few seasons were a disappointment and I didn't even bother with the stupid blind date one. The Canadian one has been really good since they started leaving Canada.

However, I am watching this season and it seems like the show is getting back on track, so I can't wait!

It's been a good season. Some really good racers. A couple of back to back super legs have caused some stupid mistakes.

Good entertainment IMO.

Loved tonight's episode. I visited Krakow this past summer and went to just about all the same places the racers did.

I wonder how far ahead the green team is now? They didn't even see another team on this leg, I don't believe.

Travelling from Poland to India next week likely means everyone will be on the same flight and be bunched up again.

I hope they bunch up again. I find it boring when one team is winning every leg - even worse when it's a team I don't like.

As a guy from Calgary who's living in Rotterdam, I found that leg very interesting. It is incredible seeing the things that teams don't know. From where the Doctors were waiting for a bus, you could jog anywhere in the centre of city in about 15mins. Taking trams that come every 10 minutes to go to a place you could jog in 10-15mins. the fact they had to take the trams was probably a big part of challenge now that I think about it. In front of Central there are 22 different trams you can hop on. Rotterdam is a very small centre, they never really left the centre except to visit the windmills. Really cool to see the race in a city I know so well. Then hopping on the tram from Den Haag HS to get to the peace palace and missing it! A lot of it was filmed in locations I frequent and we live right by the big white bridge. Really cool.

I don't, only becuase I picked them at the start, before I knew how sucky Justin was. And my wife almost always picks the winner, I think I actually have a chance this time!

In the second season of the Canadian version, there was a team that won almost every leg, but lost the last one. That's the only win that matters. I hold out hope that the same will happen here, because I can't stand smug Justin, but there aren't many other options that I favour either. Of the remaining choices, the only team I like at all are the reporters, so I guess I'm cheering for them.
