Last one kicked the bucket in Redcliff about 2-3 years ago for Alberta, Might be wrong but I think it's been about 15 years since one operated in Calgary.

Deerfoot Mall sets up an inflatable screen in their parking lot and shows older movies. It looks like they're starting this Wednesday, and for the next five Wednesdays: http://www.deerfootmall.com/sales-events/
It's free, and I have no idea if it's any good or not. I think that's about as good as you're going to get.

That was such a shame. I used to love taking girls there when I got my driver's license!
I much prefer the drive-in experience to a traditional theatre. The VIP theatre in Windermere is okay, but just doesn't have the same feeling.

Not really a drive-in, but sometimes they will show a movie at a mall parking lot, like Deerfoot Outlet Mall for free. Otherwise, the only one I know is Starlight in Enderby.

Used to love going to the Coral 4 on long weekends for the Dusk til Dawn. For the brave it was free if you trunked yourself in past the gates. Other drive ins I remember going to have all closed. Too bad! Can't see them coming back though.

https://drive-ins.com/theaters/xx?page=2 Cornonation,AB closed amongst the others.
All that is left to do is to go and geocache them to pay tribute....

Ha ha minions and terminator genesis playing in enderby.....$25 for a carload compared to $18 or so for a ticket for one person to a 3d movie.......wonder if enderby still shows the classic lets go to the snack bar with the hot dog jumping into the bun?
Was never fun to be at the drive in when it was raining

Coral 4 was the last one in Calgary. I think the Sundance off Edmonton Trail was the 2nd last - for years you could still see the screen tucked in there.

It was called the Sunset drive-in. When I lived in Tuxedo I could watch the screen from our bathroom window.

Built in 1980 and closed in the late 1990s, the Corral 4 was the very last Drive In Theatre in the Calgary area. Instead of one screen, they had four (hence their name). It was located at the far eastern edge of the city, an area today that is now mostly developed. In total, there was room for a couple thousand cars.
The Corral 4 was closed due to a big fire at an oil refinery located right next door. Initially it was thought the theatre would reopen after some cleanup, it wasn’t that badly affected after all, but that never happened. I guess business was in decline anyway, falling off badly I understand in the last few years preceding that event, and this gave them a good excuse to call it day. The screens and most everything else were demolished over the next few years.

We still have one at Kenosee Lake in SK. It's a fun excursion when you're camping. Never forget the time we were there during a lightning storm, watching Troy. I was expecting them to shut down after one hit just behind the screen but they kept it running!
