[TRADE] Anderson has been moved
CPHL McKenzie @CPHLMcKenzie
Anderson has been moved. Don't know where. Hearing #SJ, #VAN, #EDM, #STL, #CGY are interested parties.
Update:
CPHL Steinberg @CPHLSteinberg
My understanding on Anderson is he is very upset. #FeelingSad. His wife and 12 kids are expensive to move. No further details.

Wow, MacKenzie is slipping. SJ has no interest and made that pretty clear.
That's why you can't trust these media types. They talk out their behind more then anything.

#SJ and #CGY are out. That leaves #VAN, #EDM, #STL, as possible destinations.

#SJ should have been in the running. 79 OVR goalies will have difficulty winning.

Least SJ has the assets to acquire better players. Something NYI has difficulty with.

#VAN is out. They've been told to have their fans shave their beards and stop burning things before they can be considered a legitimate franchise.

#STL has won the Anderson sweepstakes. #EDM is out. Still not learning that you need a starter rated goalie to win. #1stoverallpick4timesinarowandstillsuck
CPHL Steinberg @CPHLSteinberg
Anderson is still crying. Knows nothing about St.Louis other than Ribs. And maybe a riverboat?

Hearing Anderson was traded for a Roster player and a prospect. Plus a suitcase full of cash. #MoMoneyMoProblems

Simmer will be tops in the league in no time. He built MTL into a championship team before a few GMs came and slowly ran them back into the ground.
He isn't so good at handling his beer but he is good at building CPHL teams.

So after couple of these moves:
-Isles move forward with Pickard and Ward, Ward is maybe a starter next NHL season.
-Flames with Lack, so depends on who plays in Carolina, both teams could have half a starter.
-Oilers of NHL and CPHL banking on Talbot, should be playable though.
-Blues get Anderson, he'll be a starter.
-Nucks with Smith, he'll at least still play a lot in Arizona.
-Sharks with Howard/Neuvirth. Both have backup ratings and likely be backups in the NHL all year.
Blues come out ahead I'd say.

I would be curious if Anderson is the starter next season with the NHL Senators, or will Andrew Hammond take over..... my guess they split the games its a 1A & 1B type of situation.
Good trade for both teams...

Official trade is Pickard and Lindberg for Andersen and cap.
this was actually a tough deal to make, mostly out of spite. I thought I had a real chance of getting Ward on a decent contract in batch 1, but after that awful contract I was soured and content to let Simmer go into the season with 20 million tied up in goalies.
After some thought though, I know I need a starting goalie and I don't believe Hammond is the guy in Ottawa or ever will be. With Lehner leaving, I think Ottawa is Andersen's team.
His overall rating jump from Pickard definitely was appealing, and even though Lindberg was tough to move, the Blues look to be very deep at center for a lot of years going forward with Getzlaf, Stepan, Fisher and Eichel

I think it is very tricky to project which goalies will be starters in a lot of these cases. As a guy whose had young goalies, many years I thought THIS is this year that *insert name* takes over as the #1. A lot of times it didn't happen.
I think this is a strong move for St. Louis as they really didn't give much up to get Anderson. But I can also understand why other teams may have chosen not to pay that price, and just go with what they have.

Not sure why all the Talbot hate. There's a few teams that also have a starter who is 80ov or less. Whether we want to believe it or not, the NHL Oilers are poised get better. I think Talbot will do fairly decent up north and his rating will reflect that possible success. At $4.75 for 3 years, Talbot could end up being a great deal in a year or two at the CPHL level.

Kudos to Simmer for his rumor/twitter timeline of the trade, great idea.
I prefer the deal for the Blues.

My analysis of the trade:
I don't think Anderson will have an 83 OVR rating next year. Most 1a/1b guys get reduced OVR ratings, and I tend to think Anderson's will fall back to Earth.
OTT re-signed Hammond to a longer deal, so I would assume Anderson is there to mentor Hammond and split games with him.
I was trying to sell Anderson at a high, and it was hard finding any takers.
I also sympathized with the Blues as I did sign Cam Ward, knowing they wanted to take him at a lower rate, so I likely gave up a bit too much.
In return I get Pickard who had the highest SV% of any Avs goalie. I also get Lindberg who is on a 1-way contract this year with the Rangers and looked very good against the Flames in the 1 game he played in the NHL last year.
Thanks for the deal, will be interesting to see how it shakes out.

I like the gamble for the Blues. I think Hammond is horrible and a flash in the pan. However the isles got a couple decent assets when goalie value is hard to gauge. Well done both sides.
