ALL ABOARD!

Amazon Prime Day
It's Amazon Prime Day. They're billing it as better than Black Friday for deals.
So far I'm not seeing any really crazy deals. If you're looking for something specific you might want to take a look.
Post any good deals you see or a review of something that's on sale for the day if you own it.

Canada never gets the deals the US does. I know in the US, Walmart and Target are having matching sales to try and compete with Amazon.com today.
And "Black Friday in July" might be even more annoying than "Christmas in July".

I don't find anything annoying about good deals for consumers.

Same here, I just went through the deals and there was nothing that really made me want to get something. A few OK deals on things I may think about but with all the hype I was expecting to spend quite a bit. I guess that's a good thing.

Wal-Mart and Target will have to try harder. Where Amazon excels (other than having EVERYTHING) is getting their customers the stuff they order very, very quickly. Wal-Mart and Target aren't there yet. I'm sure our company would be very happy to help them achieve the shipping prowess that Amazon has with us. I doubt they want to spend the money though.
We will see the increased volume form the sale that started 9 hours ago tomorrow. It doesn't get much faster.
If you order something from Wal-Mart today in the US you probably won't see it for a week. That's the best they offer.

I use Amazon (and Prime) very often, probably ordered 6-7 items this week alone. There is literally nothing I want to buy on sale

Yeah, kind of a swing and a miss here so far. Lots of cheaper junk, but nothing that really jumps out as a great deal.

A lot of the "deals" are also being advertised as the % off the MSRP, not their normal selling price.
There is a shaver for $55 advertised as 30% off, even though its normal selling price shows as $62, so hardly worth jumping at.
Even looking through all the upcoming deals, its a bit of a dud on the .ca site.

There is really nothing on sale I want aside from a sandisk memory card. Booo. Feel like I wasted my Amazon prime trial.

If you like to order stuff from Amazon, it's worth checking out this site:
http://ca.camelcamelcamel.com/
It basically tracks and displays the price history of anything sold on Amazon.

You are .com prime, though, right?
Not sure of the value for .ca
We get free 2 day shipping and nothing much else

I'm on .ca (although I sure do miss .com!).
Even if its more limited, the free 2-day shipping is the best part...instead of wasting time to go to a local store on the weekend (which usually doesn't have as good of a selection or price), I can just order it on some random weekday and it's here sooner than I think. Because there's no shipping cost, you can order basic items that you would probably never order otherwise. Whatever it is, batteries, vitamins, house hold goods, tools, etc etc. it's great for stuff that you don't need today, but still get relatively quickly.

I use it a lot too, much like you do.
I think most people don't, and therefore it provides less value.

I use it lots as well. I think it's great.
The only downside is all the boxes. There's some guilt I feel for all the packaging. Recyclable or not.

Pretty useless sale. I was hoping they'd have great deals on electronics, i'm in the market for a new tv. You can't compare it to black Friday and then have nothing noteworthy on sale. I guess they drove a lot of traffic to the site today but its a big let down.
