This is more of the comparable I see for Gaudreau / Monahan... gives me home that we can sign these guys for closer to $6M or so (rather then the redic $7.5M for ROR)

So does this take him to UFA or burn any UFA years off?

If it's a long term deal, and they both have another great season, fully expect it to be 6+

You should contact the Flames if you're a comparable player to Gaudreau that has somehow slipped under the radar.

Gaudreau and Monahan are both not only younger, but have both already had better seasons than Nyquist's best. If anything this sets the market well north of $5 million for them (and potentially a lot more depending on their upcoming seasons).

Yes, if the Flames were buying UFA years on a 4 year deal, they would have to pay more for those 2.
But they are not UFA's during that time frame.
I expect you're upset by how bad this makes the O'Reilly deal look, but don't project that on Flames fans.

I was also about to say this. The talks would probably have the lower end start where Nyquist's AAV is at. But considering they're our golden boys, I'd expect something around 5.75 anyway (What Dougie got) and would be very pleased with anything under 6.

Except that this isn't a bridge deal...
Pretty universally accepted that a bridge deal is the second contract that keeps the player an RFA after the bridge deal expires. This is Nyquist's third contract and he would have been a UFA for 3 of those years.

In this NHL? God no. Gaudreau, and especially Monny are going to get PAID. 7m+
