Default New homes for cats

I've got three cats and two kids. It's become far too much to have all of hear dependents in the house, has anyone had success getting rid of cats without them ending up dead?

Any suggestions?

Cats are far more affordable and less annoying than kids. Just get rid of the kids.

Kids grow up and as they do it's incredibly rewarding. Cats just die and then you get another one. It's not really something you can put a dollar figure on or really compare in any way.

Make a little arena and have a tag team match to the death. Kids v Cats. The kids SHOULD win. If they don't, they probably weren't worth your time anyway.

In all seriousness, weren't you trying to get rid of a cat two years ago or something? Or am I thinking of someone else?

I got rid of my cats 4 years ago because of my sons allergies. You may or may not be thinking of that. Probably not but I hold out hope that random people on the internet remember me.

I took one a few years back to the Cochrane shelter as it was a no-kill shelter. Not sure if that's still the case. You may have a tough time right now as a week or so ago every shelter in the city was overflowing.

Cats are hard???? you throw food in a bowl once or twice a day and scoop crap out of a box once a week.

I think a goldfish is more work.

Maybe the OP should have thought this through before he ended up with 3 cats and 2 kids.

Don't get a pet if you can't live with some inconveniences in your life.

Don't get a pet if you don't think you can care for it for it's entire life.

There is enough burden on shelters without stupid people that don't realize pets are a little work and that they might still be alive when you have children.

I'm thinking that kermitology left himself logged in somewhere, and this is somebody's idea of a joke. (Possibly one of the previously mentioned kids.)

Sorry, but when the pet starts pissing all over my house and attacking my kids, I'm getting rid of the cat. Sometimes pets are just aholes.

When I got a cat, I was single. When my wife got two cats, she was in a relationship with someone else. We've been together for 6 years, and now with 2 kids having to deal with the kids and needy cats is getting really tough. I love my cats, but I want them to live somewhere where they can get the attention/love that they need, but I don't have time for. As well, I don't want them in a situation where a toddler is trying to rip their ears off or pull out their fur, because toddlers are #######s.
