this one's pretty meh. At least the Flames get #6 pick but that still isn't the most ideal situation but it could be a lot worse.
But BOTH Montreal and Toronto getting top 3 picks....we'd only hear about the battle of the Finns for few years I guess.

This is basically a best-case scenario for the Flames not winning a top-3 spot. No Oilers, no Van, the Leafs don't draft 1st, and the Flames only drop one. Pretty dang good.

I give it a 7. We didn't drop much and get a great player to play alongside Bennett. About as good as you could ask for, outside of a lottery pick.

The other plus is all three top picks landing in the East.
I'm with those that like this one. Sure it doesn't push the Flames up but they're passed by the right teams and their rivals take it on the chin.

I'll give it a 6. Edmonton and Vancouver don't get a top 3 spot, nor does Toronto get the guy they were after from day 1. Columbus also gets the franchise centre they've needed since they traded Johansen, which helps that market out. All 3 teams are in the East, meaning we wouldn't have to face Matthews or the 2 Finns more than twice a season. Sucks in the sense that we move down a spot, but I'd take this outcome if I had to.

1st: Ottawa
2nd: Arizona
3rd: Calgary
4th: Toronto
5th:Edmonton
6th: Vancouver

I gave it a 5. Pretty "meh" result. On one hand, Vancouver or Edmonton aren't in the top 3. On the other hand, either are the Flames.

There's only a 25% chance we draft top 3. This is more about mitigating the awfulness potential in the 75% in my opinion.
