Default Finally a season ticket holder (sort of)

Went in on 1/3 of season tickets yesterday with two friends! 15 games a piece for each of us, including preseason.

Just a question to those of you out there who split season tickets, what are some good strategies for splitting playoff tickets? That's the only issue we have going in, is figuring out how to do that fairly between 3 people when the playoffs come around!

I jumped in on tickets yesterday too. Ended up getting 3 seats in sec 220. Row 18. Pretty happy with those as a first year STH. Next year I'll probably drop that third seat and relocate.

I'd be curious to find out some playoff ticket strategies too. I'm sharing 3 seats between 4 ppl.

We have a nightmare of a time somehow. My friend and I take half a season, and this other guy he works with takes the other half. I'm new on the tickets, but this other guy pulls so much BS. "Calls" tickets like the Toronto and Montreal games, and wants the Saturday games because he loves his HNIC. Not playing that crap now that I've been on for a while.

I would pull numbers now for the first round. Second number gets second round and third is obviously the third round. Say we make it far, do a separate round for the SCF, or agree to sell them together. If you have six or seven game series it's easier obviously.

Just one seat, or how many do you have between the three of you?

Hold a draft at the start of the season to divide up all the regular season games.

Do a separate random draw to determine a playoff order then just keep rotating through it each year. For example, if you don't go to games together then Person A gets the first game, Person B gets the second, Person C gets the third, then rotate back so Person A gets the fourth game, and so on. Pick up where you left off the following year so it's fair.

If you are splitting 2 seats between the 3 of you and you want to go to games together then do the draw so A/B go to game 1, A/C go to game 2, B/C go to game 3, then rotate back so A/B to game 4, and so on. Pick up where you left off the following year so it's fair.

4 of us splitting two seats, playoffs was tough. We ended up going to games 3 and 4 and selling game 6 because everyone wanted to go.

We had the option that two had to buy out the other two peoples halves for game 6 at face value but everyone wanted to go. Then we said fine, lets sell game 6 in the first series and use that money to purchase two more seats for the next game 6, should it happen. Unfortunately it didn't, so we split the sale 4 ways.

That was the most fair thing we could think of.

We do a snake draft and have a rule that we only take each other to playoff games. That way we all win and is the most fair.

There are 3 of us as well.

My dad would always have a night where everyone could pick their tickets. He would determine the draft order with a shuffled deck of cards, and his partners would get an amount of cards proportional to the amount of tickets they were getting. Aces would draw first, etc...

That's ingenious!

We have two seats, so each of us gets a pair of seats for 15 games. We will do a snake draft to determine which games we get.

I like the idea of alternating playoff rights, and carrying it forward to the next year. I'll pitch that. Thanks burnitdown!
