Edmonton with a lot of fourth line tinkering these last couple days. When are they actually going to shake things up?

Bob Stauffer @Bob_Stauffer
As per @EdmontonOilers Gordon for Korpikoski....Oilers will now likely be looking for veteran right shot C tomorrow

by far their best FO taker at 55.9 percent last season, all the other regulars were under 50 percent. Typical Oilers move, makes no sense.

They don't want to mess up everything they've built the last 5 years.

Wasn't this MacTavish's favourite signing a couple years ago?

Gordon had the Oilers best faceoff % by a mile last year. A useful 3rd line center for a useless 3rd line winger? Oilers gonna Oil.

Typical Oilers move to get rid of the defensively responsible centre for the softer winger who puts up more points.

Isn't Talbot a UFA after this upcoming season? What are the odds he bolts after getting lit up due to the AHL worthy defense corps and forwards who refuse to backcheck? The have ONE center who cares about defense and is top 10 in the league in faceoffs and they trade him for a winger? I thought MacT wasn't allowed to make trades anymore?

I liked Gordon but I can see how they'd deem him expendable with McDavid coming in.

But who's gonna take faceoffs? The 18 year old?

Kinda like............Gordon??

I don't mind Korpikoski, but as others have said he was their best faceoff man by a large margin. Perfect 4th line C for the Oil, I don't really get this trade.

I think Kyle Brodziak is the UFA veteran center he was talking about.

I think the plan is to move RNH to wing as well and then have McDavid centre every line.

Does Edmonton clear up any cap space with this deal? Otherwise not sure why they'd be trading center's when their depth at that position is putrid at best.
