Default Big fire in Glacier

http://www.cnn.com/2015/07/22/travel...eat/index.html

Started yesterday and is already up to 1000 acres. That's scary.

NW Montana was ripe for a bad fire season this year. Several counties flat out banned fireworks prior to the 4th of July in an effort to curb fires. We were up there at the time and folks were really being careful. Had a small fire in the Glacier Rim of the North Fork of the Flathead River that we watched a chopper dump water on. It was contained pretty quickly though.

Hope they get some cooperation from Mother Nature on this fire.

Ah man Hopefully they can get it under control, but I don't have high hopes with how dry it's been all over. That's amazing country and I'd hate to see it all get ravished by fire. Thanks for posting this.

From the video in this link, the fire looks to be right on the north shore of St Mary's Lake. And based on the evacuations, if that is the case, Both Rising Lodge and Campgrounds could very well be in danger.

Im typing this from the 505 west, just north of Cardston. It smells like canola and it is just a little hazy towards chief mountain and west of that. Off on the horizon, where the mountains "end" it does look like there is smoke going straight east. If you didn't know there was a fire going you would not be able to tell.
