Panthers trade rights for Zach Hyman to Toronto

Florida #panthers have traded Zach Hyman contract rights to Toronto in exchange for Gregg McKegg #Leafs #NHL
Toronto Maple Leafs @MapleLeafs
The #Leafs have acquired Zach Hyman & a conditional seventh round pick in 2017 from the @FlaPanthers in exchange for Greg McKegg. #TMLtalk

Hyman was a Hobey Baker candidate and set to become UFA after telling the Panthers he would not sign with them

Word is #FlaPanthers could have signed C Zach Hyman had they let him skip AHL and brought him to NHL in March/April. Dale Tallon said no.

Good. There are ton of guys in the minors who are paying their dues and deserve a chance.
All this catering to guys like Reilly, Schultz, etc is stupid. Good for Panthers to tell him to screw off.

A lot of people say it is because some scrub named Dylan Larkin carried him.
Larkin might be the only reason he gets a NHL contract.
