I'll be waiting for PS3 to come out before making my decision whether to get one or not which hopefully is next spring instead of the rumored late 2006 - early 2007 release.

with game systems, i don't make the decision, i let the software developers make it for me.

from the NES through today, the best technology is seldom the best system, anyone remember NEO-GEO or sega CD? nope.

3DO, turbografix-16, the list goes on and on.

line up the developers, then get back to me.

That's what I'm doing. Regardless of which one is more powerful I'll be getting the one that has the better game selection.

I might have got both if I was a serious console gamer but I'll still play the majority of my games on PC. I'm just sick of not being able to play games like wrestling and boxing because they dont come out on PC.

Well, don't forget that is American pricing. That converts to $483.85 Canadian so I would expect our price for the loaded system to be somewhere in the $500 range.

btw, if you buy the one without the HDD you can't play any of the old XBOX games on it.

i'm actually surprised at how many cross-platform games there are nowadays, the technology obviously makes it a lot easier.

yeah, not everything comes out for the PC, kind of a shame

I think I will be getting one when they come out. The old PS2 in nearly exhausted. Probably will get the PS3 when it comes out also.

I'll be getting the 360 no doubt about it. I'll probably also get the PS3 depending on the games. But who knows when the PS3 is actually going to be out...they keep on pushing it back and pushing it back some more. For being so proud and cocky at E3 this year about it it seems very odd to me. Though is this a case of the reviewers while being impressed with the carefully crafted cut-scene selection shown on the PS3 reminding the public that Sony has a history of overpromising and underdelivering on system capabilities and the rumours that while the specs are impressive most of the power is for non-gaming purposes.

Seems as though they are handing the gaming industry to Microsoft for 18-24 months. If the 360 has some great games on it and continues to deliver good games it's a risk. But in the end it is all up to the games.

I haven't had a game console since N64 and I've been waiting for the sequels of PS2 and Xbox, so I guess my wait is nearly over!
