Can't believe there was a vote for JL #1. You are a sick, sick person, Nadal.

I'm surprised I mean Infinity War was near perfect, but Superman the movie was as well.

BTW has anyone watched Brightburn, definitely not a hero movie, but its a great movie and I highly recommend it for fans of the Superhero movies.

I'm not going to get into a whole diatribe about it, because I think its been well enough explained in this thread at least, but Infinity War? That wasn't a movie.

That was a cinematic event that was the culmination of decades of effort and planning that was so preposterous that everyone I think naturally assumed that it had to fail merely, if nothing else, under the mass of it's own weight.

And not only did they pull it off brilliantly, they even managed to pull the whole thing together and top it off with a Chef's Kiss.

Best 'Comic Book Movie Ever?' Infinity War should have been disqualified immediately just out of fairness to all of the other contenders and put in a Trophy Case somewhere all on it's own.

This is pretty much it for me. The Dark Knight has the best performance with Ledgers's Joker, and I wouldn't be mad at it being voted #1. There are a lot of good choices in the Top 10 for various reasons. Iron Man is still one of the best not just for legacy, but as a one-off entertaining movie. Days of Future Past is up there with Infinity War for ambition meeting execution. End Game is close just for the scene of Cap wielding Mjolnir. That movie has so many frames that feel pulled straight out of a comic. And big respect to the Spiderverse movies, whose only drawback is their titles. I consider them a step forward in animated filmmaking.

I see why an older audience might vote in Superman but as someone born in 89 with a post Matrix sensibility, it's just not even close to modern movies in the way that something like Alien or Terminator or Bladerunner still holds up against and even exceeds modern sci-fi etc.. Raimi's Spiderman hit me right in the age sweet-spot when it came out, but they are certainly of their time and the performances overall are just not great.

If I wanted to introduce a non-superhero fan to a movie, if they knew absolutely nothing about them, hoping that it would catch their interest to watch more, it definitely wouldn't be Superman. It would be Iron Man probably. Or Batman Begins.

Superman the Movie was good, but II was a rare case of a sequel being better than the original.

Yeah. The original movies were good for background / origin story but Superman II and Dark Knight were great. Then similarly the 3rd movies come out and are a bit of a let down.

Superman and Spiderman 3 were totally let downs, but I don't think Rises is a let down. It's not a perfect film fine, but there is so much good in there that outweighs the bad. The scene where Batman loses to Bane was incredible I remember watching it opening night at the midnight showing and the entire audience was silent during the entire scene in awe of what we were watching. And I think Hathaway as Catwoman was great, not as good as Pfeiffer but still a good job. It does a fantastic job closing out the trilogy.

I went Spiderman 2002, ultimately the movie hit at the perfect time for technology and the 3rd person webslinging shots were mind blowing to my 1990's brain.

Good story, good MJ, good Villain, good enough Peter.
