The Edson Kinsmen Slo-pitch tournament is looking for teams.
Considered to be one of the largest tournaments in North American, it was also ranked in Maxim Magazines Top 5 places to.....ummm......errr....ahh....meet your future life partner or evening partner.
I went a long long time ago and it was one of the best weekends I have ever had, especially around sports. If your a ball team you should seriously think about doing this at least once.
i haven't played in the tourney but i had the privilege of bartending in the beer gardens a few years ago. The old Kinsmen guys gave me a crap load of beads around my neck and sat back and watched the show in their recliners. Needless to say i saw a lot of boobies that night. Its amazing what girls will do for cheap plastic beads.

just a heads up but the Kinsmen Annual Slo-pitch tournament in Edson, Ab is coming up for the August long weekend. 272 teams.

Went four years in a row...explains much of my brain cell loss. Many great stories. I will share a favourite.
Home run derby with hundreds (if not thousands) watching from the beer garden and area. Guy walks up with a trenchcoat on. Poor effort at the home run, but he drops the coat, is buck naked and decides to round the bases. Then he makes the first of two bad decisions.
He slides head first into third base...on shale.
He gets up, runs to home and slides again head first.
I have no idea how impaired I would have to be to do that; and to do it a second time...?

yup, we've seen some pretty crazy things whilst attending the Kin slo-pitch here. But being a Kinsmen and working the beer table in the garden on friday or saturday night. My oh my does one get to witness some crazy stuff.
What people will do for a beer after last call....
Just finished up our leagues Ice Breaker Tournament here in Vancouver. Only a blackened, swoolen ankle to show for my efforts. It was fun but it cannot hold a candle to Edson. Easily the best tournament I have ever attended.
