Flames sign CZE D Jakub Nakladal to 1 year ELC
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
CGY signs CZE UFA D Jakub Nakladal, 27, to 1-yr entry level deal. Played in FIN this season, for CZE at World Championship.
Ray Ferraro @rayferrarotsn
Big shot, right handed -- plays pretty physically as well...
Bob McKenzie @TSNBobMcKenzie
CGY signing of Nakladal low risk. One-yr entry-level deal, which means two-way contract. If he doesn't make NHL team, his $ go to minors.

At least Treliving is active. Two-way deal? Waiver eligible?

No risk, potential high reward.
These UFA signings have rarely worked out but it's ones like this that might. Not a top line guy but potentially a guy that can be solid on your bottom pairing.
Also always need depth on the back-end.
Would love to get him over to North America for the summer, think that fitness is sometimes a big shock for the guys coming to the NHL for the first time.

I am just happy with the signing because Chicago didn't get him. Suck it Chicago.
I wonder if he'll become our 6th/7th defenseman for the 15/16 season.

Adding depth is never a bad thing, especially if it addresses an organizational need. Good move.

I think he played with Hudler on some of the Czech international teams over the years.
Wonder if Hudler had any part in recruiting him.

He played on Kipper's Finnish team along with Mikko Rantanen.
Clearly this is a coup to draft Mikko.

As an ELC, it is a 2 way deal.
He will also be an UFA at the end of next season.
