Well im wanting to capture some video from NHL 2005 with the new flames and Team Canada and im wondering whats a good video capture program to do that?

I captured lots NHL 2005 videos with Fraps, and then used VirtualDub to compress them to a lower file size while maintaining the good quality.

and, I think, www.virtualdub.com

Gamecam

records video automatically into compressed AVI format, so virtual dub encoding is not required. may require crack.
