Default Ramo to Start Game Two vs Ducks

As per Bob Hartley, Karri Ramo will start Game 2.
Makes sense to me. Hillier didn't look bad but you want/hope Ramo comes in huge.

Despite us winning Game 7, Hiller's looked shaky in two straight game now. I know that optically it's putting more blame on him than he probably deserves, but I'm not really sure we can afford to give him a third chance in a row. Time to give Ramo the ball.

Don't mind this. I'm pretty impartial between either of them and the Ducks have a good book on Hiller.

We'll be the only Stanley Cup winner that swaps its starter for each series.

From Flames' coach Bob Hartley: Karri Ramo will start Game 2; he also sez Micheal Ferland doesn't have a head injury and expects he'll play

Switching the goalies has worked all year. No reason it won't in the playoffs.

You knew this would happen eventually. I would love to see Ramo take the reins for this series now. Ducks know Hiller too well.

I agree. Part of the reason the Flames won almost all of the 7 game segments was because the goalies were appropriately rotated. It might be a good idea to continue that. Even though Burke is against have two goalies in the playoffs. His opinion isn't wrong though, as almost all Stanley Cup winners use only one goalie.

The game is changing rapidly and the increase quality in goalies is spreading just like it is for top-end players.

If you have two goalies of good and equal calibre, I see no reason why they can't rotate, playoffs or not.

I think it's the right call. If Ramo steps up in a huge win and gets us a win, we can roll with him.

Ramo looked far worse to me last night. That said, Hartley has been pretty good at picking the right times to start the other goalie so...

I said it last night but I would love to see Ortio draw in.

If Ortio is playing with confidence in practice for sure. Wouldn't even mind playing Gillies for a game to see if he could catch lightning in a bottle. Heck Anaheim has had our number for years, at this point I think we need a goalie to steal one. Whichever of the 4 goalies that shows the most confidence right now would be fine with me. Hiller needs a little rest and practice to regain his confidence.

All this goalie talk about Gilles or Ortio is insane. The flames lost 30 games this season. They will be fine in game 2.

The future goalies can wait.

If were down 3 - 0 maybe but not down 1-0

Gillies I can agree with. Ortio's played just as well if not better during his short stint. Given the Flames need 4 w's. No reason why Ortio would not be as capable as Ramo or Hiller. Let's not forget how stellar he was gong 5-0 or something like that.
