Bloodied beak and all, Mikael Backlund just guaranteed a Game 6 win: "There's no way we're losing at home."
Bulletin board material cliche? Or happy with a confident player?

I don't think Backlund is out of line whatsoever. Calgary has flat out dominated this series and have punished Vancouver physically almost as much as Boston did in that cup final.
I think Calgary takes it 5-1 on Saturday. Canucks fans of Hockeysfuture, Canucks.com, and Canuckscorner.com, blame the refs as they always do, LOL.

Bulletin board material? If they need bulletin board material they should just put up Calgary 3 Us 2.
There are few things more overrated by fans than "bulletin board material". A nothing quote by an opposition player doesn't add anything to their performance. Money on the board can...quotes? Come on.

This is a player being a good leader. It's sending a message to everyone in Flames own locker room that they had a chance to win Game 5 and they blew it and now there's no way in hell that they should lose this game at home in front of the C of Red.
Lets face it...if this goes to a Game 7, the Canucks will most likely win purely on home crowd and adrenaline.
We NEED to win on Saturday otherwise we might just become laughing material for Canucks fans.

Love the confidence. I think it's just as much a thank you to the fans for creating an atmosphere where the boys love to play, and letting him know how the players feel when they step onto that Saddledome ice.
