Bennett: Do the Flames burn the first year of his contract?

Bennett has now played in 7 NHL games. If he plays in 3 more the Flames will burn the first year of his contract. I personally think that if he continues to impress the way he has that they do it in a heartbeat.

What are your thoughts?

They won't bench someone who is making an impact in the playoffs just because they don't want to burn a year off his contract. He's going to play.

If he gives the team the best chance to win, he goes in no question.

The decision has already been made. Treliving said Bennett is a roster player, he's available to Bob to use, they aren't going to pull him away from the coaches for fear of losing a year from his contract.
