Looks like he dug himself a big enough hole to live in.

That said, this could loosely qualify as real karma too - and certainly irony. Burrows tried to injure Gaudreau (bad intent and deed) and it led to future suffering. And if he injured himself in the process of trying to injure another...

I would be interested to know how he broke his rib (assuming that is legit). Did Russell give a crushing body blow when Burrows jumped him that wasnt fully aggravated til the next day at practice?

Did he fall or hit something at practice? If so, I would expect someone in the gathered media would have seen that and reported it.

Heard he took a shot to the chest in practice. Not sure if that is the truth or not but it was floating out there.

Also heard rumours he hurt it in the fight and aggravated it taking shots at practice. Friedman I think?

Rob Kerr said this afternoon that the rib was injured in the fight with Russell and was then further aggravated during practice.

I rewatched the play, and Russell didn't land any big haymakers to Burrow's ribs (or at all). Burrows landed shoulder/back side down they flipped over but don't see anything out of the ordinary. The biggest contact was probably when his ribs hit the boards when he tried to lay out Johnny from behind? Sucks to see, you never want to see someone get hurt when they are hitting someone from behind.
