Default Watching Round 1 in China?

Hoping CP can give me a hand figuring all this out.

I will be in China for the duration of round 1 and I don't want to miss a game. I tried signing up for NHL Gameceneter by phone and the guy said they don't offer playoff games via this service and I could only watch them on TV. I thought NHL gamecenter includced playoff games. Is this guy out to lunch or is there another service I am unaware of?

I will gladly pay, I just want to watch the Flames crush the Canucks in round 1. Anyone used NHL gamecenter before or can give me any other options? Thanks in advance!

And tips for South Korea, as well. Same deal, I'll be there for the first two weeks of the playoffs.

Alternatively, are there places you can view the replays afterwards? Virtually impossible to set your PVR to record the games accurately, I believe

Guys out to lunch. Even on the site it says now offering playoff games. Hell I live in BC and got every playoff game last year.

Yeah I called again and now this guy is telling me I have to buy a day pass each game day for $15 to watch live. I am confused. First guy said I could sign up for $50 for the playoffs, 2nd guy said I can't get it at all, 3rd guy said I need to buy these day passes. I guess I will have to give that a shot.

I'm wondering if the Great Firewall of China will pose an issue for you with Gamecentre.

Is CBC broadcasting any of the round 1 games?
If so, they might stream them like they did the world cup. Outside of Canada, all you need is a Canadian vpn.

I'll be in Cancun for games 2 & 3 but I've heard they have bars that show games upon request. If they don't I'm screwed though.

Live in Japan and use Gamecenter. It's the best way to watch the games as there are no blackouts!

I was in Shanghai in March and there was no problem with the firewall and this service. Sometime there are drop-outs but that's par for course for the internet in China, not just gamecenter.

And does anyone know hoew to watch in the US if you don't have access to cable TV? I have been watching all of the flames games this year via NHL gamecenter live, but it says on their website that all playoff games are going to be broadcast nationally on tv and hence unavailable via gamecenter.

Another vote for Gamecenter. I signed up for it( while in the US though), and travelling to Suwon multiple times it's worked great for me.

Up until last year I was using Game Center live here in Japan, however from this season I bought a Slingbox, and hooked it up to my brothers cable box back home in Calgary. Now I can watch anything he can. The up front costs are a little higher, but I am set for life now on any device I have.

You don't need to call. Just sign up online using a credit card and you should be good to go. Not sure on the price as I have signed up all year (which included playoffs)

Plus one for this. Sign up online, no need to speak to anyone. Game center is the greatest thing ever for those of us overseas.

I would look into this or the CBC online via vpn.
I have never used hockeystreams, but a buddy does and says it is great.
