Default Should Ferland have not scored on his Empty Netter?

What are your thoughts? Some say he should have showed grace and dumped the puck into the corner with 2 seconds left and not run up the score. What do you think?

If the canucks didn't want the score to be run up, they should have kept their goalie in.

I think this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I don't care.

You score that goal every day of the week and twice on Sundays. It's playoffs. You don't allow ANY chance like that go to waste when you are finishing off an opponent, especially one as grimy as the dirty Canucks!

Rub salt in the wound. Take no prisoners, this is the playoffs ffs.

Nice to see Ferkland pad his stats a little and make nuck fans even saltier.

Nope. You score that goal every time. They had an extra attacker, so were they giving up? Nope.

No idea why this is even an issue. He had every right to score there and I'm glad he did.

I tend to think that easing up at all is more insulting to the opponent. It probably would have been seen as patronizing.

After what Bieksa said, Ferland adding that exclamation point was well warranted.

He shoulda scored, and then smiled at Bieksa.

But that's just me.

The only people on earth who have an issue with this are Canucks fans, and quite frankly 99.99% of them didn't have a problem with it. Non-issue.

Where's that video of the Edmonton Dallas game where the guy misses the empty net goal and they turn around and score at the other end. You never know what can happen, the net was empty so their intent was to try and score.

It's an empty net. In the playoffs. You take that shot 100% of the time. Patrick Stefan he is not.

Regular season tilt, you don't go for the second empty net goal with 2 seconds left.

Playoffs? All bets are off, you drive every last nail into the coffin that you can.

I'm on my phone, but I'm pretty sure that was Ales Hemsky

That's the one. A cautionary tale.
