The Biggest Flames Game in 5 Years.
On the eve of the biggest game the Flames have had in 5 years and it feels like the city is starting to come alive. I thought it'd be fun to talk about all of the "elimination game" superstitions and routines because while it might not be an elimination game, it is absolutely huge.
What are yours?
Personally, I don't do anything overly crazy besides most likely teetering on the edge of a nervous breakdown for the next 36 hours. One thing I will be doing tomorrow is wearing a Flames jersey outside of going to a game for the first time in 5 years.

My dog will be wearing his Flames jacket tomorrow morning regardless of how cold it is.

Well last night I turned the volume up at one point.. then I thought, oh crap, last time I turned it up Phoenix scored.. but I couldn't remember what I had the volume at so I was freaking out.
So I just muted it, then the Flames scored.
I guess I have to mute the game Thursday.

This year, I started from the beginning in wearing my flames jersey every game day and after every win. As a staff I carry around my 2014-15 team signed stick that my girlfriend got m. During the game, I chant "Go Flames Go" and "You shall not pass" ( Gandolf style). Nerdy, I know. But it's the ritual!

I will not be watching the game.
The Flames success rate has been better when i don't watch.
Yes, I believe I have a substancial bearing on the outcome of the game.

Games are normally 9 or 10pm for me. So I get NHL15 Online Shootout on one TV and the Calgary Flames game on the other with my Calgary Slippers on..... Nothing too crazy. Thats my only ritual, other than aggressively giving advice throughout the game to the players, like they can hear me..... Watching the games alone past midnight makes you do weird things after 80 of them

I will only go on CP and make sure not to look at any opposing teams forums (that's bad juju). Other than that, I'll make a grilled cheese for dinner, which I've had the past 2 wins.
Then, I'll spend my evening pacing around the living room, glancing at the game occasionally as I worry about which end of my body fluid will expel from due to nerves.

A couple of games ago (Flames win) I looked over at my 7 year old son and he had his Monahan t-shirt on under his Hiller jersey.

I've noticed stat watching and watching the game doesn't seem to sway games for me. Lucky juju I guess.
Now... sports bets on the other hand... Let's just say I give my money away happily. Key LA players are going to have hefty bets on them Thursday. Reverse juju there.
