Default Edmonton police issue Canada-wide warrant for sex assault suspect

Keep your eyes open. This guy could be in Calgary. Stay safe ladies.

Quote:
EDMONTON - Police have issued a Canada-wide warrant for a man accused of attacking an Edmonton jogger a little more than a month after his release from behind bars.

Ashton Dennis Natomagan, 33, is wanted on eight charges including assault with a weapon, sexual assault with threats to cause bodily harm and uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm.

The arrest warrant comes after a 37-year-old jogger reported to police that she was assaulted just south of the NAIT campus on 116th Avenue and 102nd Street at about 6:30 p.m., April 11.

Police said the woman was attacked from behind. The attacker took out a box cutter and tied up the woman with green painter’s tape. He then demanded money and assaulted her before she escaped and called 911.
This guy needs dangerous offender status and to never see the streets again. Id ask how did this guy get out before this but this isn't surprising hugathug criminal justice system.

Quote:
Natomagan is a convicted sex offender who has more than 60 criminal convictions. The most serious relates to a brutal attack and sexual assault on a 10-year-old child in 2002. The child was seriously injured in the attack and Natomagan was sentenced to four years in prison for that offence.

Edmonton police issued a public safety warning about Natomagan when he was released March 2 from Grande Cache Institution after completing a 61-month sentence for sexual assault and bodily harm on a 16-year-old girl. A long-term supervision order was put in place until 2023, subjecting him to conditions and monitoring in the community.

It's Canada's new 61 strike rule.

How does the system let this guy back on the streets after sexually assaulting two minors on different occasions?

Boggles my mind..

Hope they catch him and he rots

Liberal judges, inexperienced crown prosecutors and good defence lawyers.

Ladies if a scumbag like this attacks you use your elbows, knees or use a key in between your knuckles if you are certain it will be sturdy. If a guy assaults you just go ham and then run to the nearest well lit commercial building. Punches and kicks will not help but knees and elbows will, strike and run. Scream like hell and make a commotion the whole time.

If you are attacked, and you are in a public place, do not let them take you anywhere else, no matter what. The best way not to move is to simply go limp and fall to the ground, use your legs to create space and scream for help.
It is not very likely elbows and knees will work; if you are on your feet you are easy to move into a car or behind a building, or lifted up and carried away.

The best offense is defence, don't be anywhere that the drop to the ground strategy won't work. You can always get someone to go with you to avoid these types of areas.

The go limp strategy is terrible. I have a few years of self defense experience. If the goal is to carry someone away the easiest way would be for the person to go limp. In order of best defense would be throat strike, liver strike, groin strike, eye gouge.

Predatory behavior like this is similar to a bully, you have to convince them that you aren't worth the trouble because bullies usually shy away if the prey fights back. Strike, run and make a commotion, staying in place and going limp is the formula to be abducted.

It was a generalized comment, but i do think too many judges are afraid to have their rulings overturned on appeal which I believe causes rulings to become lighter... just my 2 cents.

Back on topic, hopefully he's picked off soon. I'd had to see someone else's life destroyed by this scum.

Good luck lifting up a limp person (who may be ready to kick at you). It is doubtful you will have much luck. This is often the recommended method to avoid being taken from a safe place. I don't know what bullshido you trained in, but I guarantee the average person wouldn't be able to pull off an effective attack without serious training, in particular when the person who is attacking you singled you out as an easy target and had the element of surprise.

Massive leap from schoolyard bully to a sexual predator/rapist/murderer.

Of course strikes have their place - the important rule to remember is to NEVER allow yourself to be removed from a safe area. If dropping to the ground is known to work and easy to do, yah that is what I would recommend.
