Huge confidence builder for the Flames. They needed a solid win like that to help them regain a positive focus going forward.

3.Kris Russell: What more can you say about this guy? Officially credited with an assist at this point, could be turned to a goal, 3 shots, +1 and 6 blocked shots.

He's been credited with that goal officially now.

Lines seems messed in your article (correct in the odds and ends)
Gaudrea-Monahan-Hudler
Bouma-Backlund-Jones
Raymond-Colborne-Jooris
Ferland-Stajan-Shore
I think. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Calgary didn’t sag though, or at least Lance Bouma didn’t sag, as his individual effort resulted in the tying goal when he lugged the puck and three defenders to the net getting his rebound and scoring his 15th of the season. Yeah I said 15. 15!
|
Great effort by Bouma. With him hot again we have a chance. Bouma being hot seems like an oxymoron but there it is.

Great writeup as usual, keep posting game takes please. I thought that maybe Ferland alone deserved to be Mr. Clutch for his 1st NHL goal but the entire 4th line is not a bad choice either.
Thanks again

I'd be curious to know what Hartley said to the guys after Nashville scored that 2nd goal.
I don't think it was the timeout (maybe a TV timeout) but right around the time about 10 minutes left where Nashville looked like they were coming back with a vengeance he said something to the boys and they totally got their mojo back. I was very impressed that the team didn't roll over for Nashville at that point, they are an elite team.

Does Hartley stick with Hiller or go back to Ramo tomorrow?

just looked at the stats. Notwithstanding the big win, we got worked again in the faceoff circle.
backlund in particular had a dreadful night.

Loved how the Nashville commentator was saying Josi was 'right on Russell's heels' in the blocked shots tally.

Loved the effort and the W. The fourth line as a whole were stellar.
Not sure if it was conceded or not but NSH definitely did not bring their "A" game today. I think the Flames would still have got the W but the score would've been closer. They definitely had their foot off of the pedal today.
Hiller should get the ball for a run now. His first period was a bit shakey but expected given it was his first start in 5. Really settled down and helped get the win for the other two periods.
I hope the players know that's the tempo and desperation they're going to need to play with from here on out. If you play like that in St'Louis, you have a real good shot at stealing those two points and really helping out your cause. Here's hoping.

I hope this is a sign that we have our mojo back. I didn't like our last 2-3 games.
I'm ok with either goalie tomorrow's game, but I would prefer Ramo.
I hate to say it, but tomorrow is must win. Given the oot possibilities, and the fact that dallas could pull within 3points of us with a regulation victory.....

Thanks for the write up. I would disagree with giving Hiller a star.

Michael Ferland, pat yourself on the back son. A year of sobriety and your 1st NHL goal. Inspirational stuff.
Drew Shore deserves a few more games based on that performance.
Stajan looked really good with the 2 youngsters on his wing. That line was dominant in possession and seemed to really click. I really hope that's a combination that Bob 'Mama Hawk' Hartley sticks with for the next few games.
