Default Phil Kessel & David Booth fight in practice

Maybe belongs in the T=NG thread, but here it is:

http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/p...eafs-practice/

Good thing? Bad thing? Neither?

I was expecting Kessel to slash him a few times and then skate off

Doesn't seem like a big deal. I assume nobody on their team is enjoying the season much. Tempers flare. Wouldn't be surprised if it's happened on the Flames a couple times throughout the year.

Phil Kessel is hilarious, the first time this year he gets into a scrum and shows a little grit is in a team practice on March 27.

They say all the right things afterwards, but I wonder if guys on teams like the Flames or Ducks ever lose it on each other? I doubt it. They put the team first.

Booth was busting his ass last night, which was not something you could always say about David Booth. I have a feeling players who are not the stars are pissed at the way the top players have mailed in the rest of the season. That room is the very definition of a toxic environment.

Did Booth eat the last 12 doughnuts, or did he say "Harvey's sucks"?

Why do I picture Phil using the bottom of his fists? Or maybe the fight was soething like in Napoleon Dynamite.

Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but I find it telling that Kessel refused comment afterwards.

Kessel is such a wuss. Always a spear or slash. Never drops his stick.

Booth is playing for his NHL career at this point.

Signed a one year 'show me' contract because of his signficant injury concerns, and the team around him are playing like pylons. Gotta be frustrating knowing the play of your teammates is probably costing you real dollars and an opportunity elsewhere.

People will remember that some practices that the Flames had in the 80's were like episodes of Stampede Wrestling.

this is how a frustrated team practices.

Luckily Ed Whalen was around to call it. A malfunction at the junction.
