Default George Floyds 4 YO niece shot while sleeping..

This poor family...if it wasnt for bad luck etc.

Ugh.

A four-year-old girl who was hit by gunfire in southwest Houston on New Year's Day has been identified as the niece of George Floyd, who was killed by former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin in May 2020.

Arianna Delane's family told media outlet KHOU that the young girl was struck in her sleep after someone opened fire on their apartment complex just before 3 a.m. Another child and four adults were also in the apartment at the time, but no one else was injured.

Maybe when random bullets hit sleeping 4 years olds, you might start to think there is a gun problem in your country.

The article I read yesterday said that police didn't respond for 4 hours? That is pretty effed if true.

What a sad story. My heart goes out to that family. So senseless and tragic.

This wouldn't have happened if she were armed.

The best defense against a bad guy with a gun is a good 4 year old girl with a gun sleeping.

Exactly. The NRA has to petition the manufacturers to start making guns befit toddler sized hands.

Honest to God, I don't think I'd ever recover if that happened to me.

A couple years ago, a bullet from a high-powered rifle passed through our bedroom and struck the wall behind our bed. Which was unnerving.

Nothing that happens in that country can fix their gun problems. Sandy Hook happened and gun sales increased. Half of the population is against any infringement on their freedoms that they are willing to sacrifice the lives of their (or more realistically other people's) children.

Well given the hate that the BLM movement and the inner city communities have for the police, this shouldn't be a surprise. BLM most loud and clear messages revolve around Defund the police, Abolish the police and ***K the Police. So really the fact that the police even responded at all should be the surprise in this case.

The NRA should offer free weapons training, and gun range access to wannabe gangsters, a gun range that has apartment buildings, diner's and moving cars, heck maybe even include some moving cars that you they can shoot out of. The gun problem isn't going anywhere, nor is the value of life increasing anytime soon, so perhaps shifting the strategy to cutting down on accidental shootings and eliminating shooting innocent children and pedestrians should be the goal.

So you are suggesting training murderers to be more accurate? Interesting strategy...

Thankfully she is currently in stable condition according to the article, albeit with a punctured lung and liver and three broken ribs.

Its less than half but there is enough democrats in that group that they aren't willing to do anything.

Inner city communities don’t hate the police. In polls, 20 per cent of Black Americans want police presence in their community reduced, 60 per cent want it to stay about the same, and 20 per cent want it increased.

But the Ferguson effect is real. Police are cutting back their presence in certain neighbourhoods.

This happened here yesterday.

Two shootings in Calgary on Thursday have left one man dead and another person in non-life-threatening condition, police say
