That's probably the best matchup for the Flames. The Canucks don't scare me. The Ducks and Blues do, and the Preds D and Rinne will be very tough when the games tighten up in the POs.

Interesting to me that if the playoffs started today, there would be 50% turn over in the West.
LA, COL, DAL, SJS out
CGY, VAN, NAS, WIN in

Ducks over Jets in 3 (not a typo, Jets suck this much)
Predators over Wild in 4 (Dubnyk falls back to Earth at the worst possible time)
Flames over Canucks in 7 (Sedins both injure themselves diving)
Blues over Blackhawks in 7 (Kane is usually a Blue killer)
Canadiens over Bruins in 5 (Boston can't beat Montreal)
Capitals over Islanders in 6 (Ovechkin lights it up)
Red Wings over Lightning in 5 (Detroit is really good at hockey)
Penguins over Rangers in 7 (Malkin dominates)

^ That is insane. Going into this year, everyone thought the pacific division would be, by FAR, the hardest to crack the playoffs in.
But that was with the assumption that LA and SJ would play at an elite level this season.
A lot of surprises. Still shocked that neither Chicago nor St. Louis will probably be in the top seed in the central division come season's end.

If they started today with today's rosters, or matchups as of today, but with players expected to be back by playoff time?

Would love to beat Van again, we've had good runs in the past once we got past them.

Out of all the teams the one I want the most is Van and the one I want the least is Anaheim
Another Bruins/Habs series would be cool

A very interesting series would be the Ducks and Jets. Whoever would win that series would be all bruised up for round 2. I think if there was a team that could beat the Ducks in round 1, it would be the Jets. They just match up with Anaheim pretty well.

I also hope the Penguins find a way to snag the #1 spot in their division. Would absolutely love an Islanders vs. Rangers series, battle of New York. The battle of New York would result in a Capitals vs. Penguins 1st round, Ovechkin vs. Crosby.

I would pray for a sweep of the Canucks. I don't think I'd be able to handle a game 7 versus them. Ugh.

#JustSaying....

even if we were down 0:3 in the series, we can still pull a 4:3 win...

If we make the playoffs and wind up with Vancouver, I'd have to leave the country. No way I could handle that stress. That would be waaaaaaaaay to intense.

I only care about who the Flames play; my first choice is Vancouver.
I believe we beat them in 1.

Really? I'd think the Jets would get absolutely clobbered by the Ducks. You'd need a goalie playing at a Dubnyk/Rinne level to even stand a chance if you're the Jets. Though the Jets at least have comparable size in their lineup. But just a far inferior team.

You're definitely right about that. While 2004 was pretty intense, the rivalry post-2004 picked up, like tenfold (though a bit more tame in the past couple seasons).
Every loss would feel like the end of the world, and every win would feel almost like a cup win. And with this team's flair for the dramatic, a series against the Canucks would definitely take a toll on the ol' heart.
