Is it just me, or is Jack FM slowly turning into "Lite 96" ??

For the last few days, I've noticed them playing songs I've never heard before...then just now, I heard one of their "playing what we want" commercials that included two of the very same songs heard on Lite 96's TV spots.

Is it just me???

Not sure if you'd here "Back in Black" on Lite, which is on Jack.

Used to switch between FM stations at work, but since started a new job last October, I haven't, and I think I'm better for it.

Attempting to pigeonhole yourself to any format doesn't work, at least in Calgary. Vauge generalizations like 107.3, sure, but the "obscure must mean its cool" kick that Jack started on, has fizzled.

Plus, its Rogers that owns them, who are likely to change fomrats quicker and more often then Ted Rogers changes socks, or, assets he owns to bearing him name.

I've popped in a CD a little more often lately.

I was actually thinking the same thing this morning when they went "There's enough lame stuff on other stations." They then started plaing "Contact" by Platinum Blonde; from the album after they started going into obscurity.

Hey, I'm a Platinum Blonde fan, and I thought it was lame.

Then after switching stations, I heard them playing "Tell somebody" which has the exact same melody as "Contact."

I can't wait for Satellite Radio this fall!

Wow!
Amazing. Another Platinum Blonde fan. I never thought I'd meet another one in the whole world. Are you sitting comfortably? Then let's begin!

But yes, Contact is cheesy. All their late albums suck. Mark Holmes still shows up from time to time on Much Music when they interview him for his opinions on things and he is owner of the Mod Club in Toronto.

Platinum Blonde has a new DVD coming out. I'm so excited although the music has always been better than the freaky image of massively tweaked hair. Still, the best of Canadian 80s bands.

Jack somehow always ends up playing the worst and cheesiest of tracks from 80s bands though. It's horrible. They never play the good stuff.

I figured you meant creeping towards the harder rock end of the spectrum. I heard Enter Sandman yesterday and Back in Black today

Jack FM sucks.
