Fresh off winning the Beanpot tournament on Monday, Boston University goaltender Matt O'Connor has become a prime target for several NHL teams.

Sources tell TSN, as of Monday 14 NHL clubs have expressed interest in signing the 23 year old college free agent and as many as five teams are promising NHL playing time this season if O'Connor chooses to sign at the end of his college season.

Toronto, Ottawa, Edmonton, Vancouver and Calgary are all believed to be keenly interested in signing the the undrafted 6'5" goalie, while Buffalo and Phoenix are also considered to be contenders on the list of 14 as well.
O'Connor has met individually with a number of teams and will continue to do so before making a final decision.

O'Connor is scheduled to graduate this summer with a business degree.

Seems like an excellent add. Hopefully the Flames can lure him in.

Obviously Edmonton guaranteed him a roster spot, who else?

Seems like we are always in on these guys but never have anything to show for it. We don't have a lot to sell a goalie on. With Ortio and Gillies around not sure a goalie would want to come be a AHL backup.

Hiller and Ortio as the NHL tandem with Gillies and O'Connor splitting games in the AHL, McDonald kicking around in junior sounds like a solid goaltending situation.

He may feel he can beat Gillies who he probably knows a bit about. Or he could see the Stockton situation as a good one to promote himself. Or there's bargaining to be done on one versus two way contracts.

Love how Dreger names every Canadian team in every discussion to create reaction and traffic for TSN

I'm not necessarily saying they have inquired, and I'm not saying that haven't inquired, I'm saying it would not surprise me. [player] would be a good fit for any team, but at the same time, I wouldn't be surprised if [high traffic team] doesn't have the necessary pieces to make it work."

TLDR: I know nothing.
