Can anybody recommend a psychologist?

I previously had a very difficult 4 year divorce that had left me pretty angry. Cost me over 900k. My ex went after me, my family and took a lot of it out on my daughter. It has been a few years and I had been handling it quite well up until recently.

I find that it is starting to get to me again so I was wondering if any of you could recommend a good psychologist to go have a chat with?

I wonder if it might be better for you to research a bit and see what kind of psychologist you want to see. For example, if somone recommends the best humanist oriented therapist in Calgary, it might do nothing but aggravate you even though that person is the best in his/her field.

At least it will give you an idea of what's out there. One of the stand outs is the the EMDR therapy if you feel like you might have a traumatic stress or anger issue and if you want to "see some real results". If you just want to talk and have someone listen then a humanist would be best suited to you. If you want to take a wholistic approach and address other physical issues then a health based therapy might be good. I see there is also a parent/child interaction therapy...don't know what that is but it might help with your daughter.

If you have benefits through work, I'd recommend checking through them. May be covered by your benefits too.

Yes, do you have a work EAP (employee assistance program). It's usually free.

My daughter is the best registered psychologist but she's not in Calgary.
