Good news.
I really really like Wolf, but next season he needs to put an extreme focus on conditioning. The way he plays requires a significant amount of energy and you could see him gasping for air as the game went on.
He'll be ready next season.

In fairness, Granlund is the far more useful player in case of injury since he can play centre, wing and up and down the lineup.
EDT: not posted in response to savard, but I think it applies

Maybe Byron's out longer than we think? Now they can rotate Granlund in for Bollig once in a while.

with big ern on a scoring streak (2 points, 3 games last time I checked) I think he's earned a call up.

Interesting.
I wonder if someone got banged up last night, who they don't want to put on IR, but still want to have someone ready to go into the lineup (or it could be for Byron, although, if he's going to miss tomorrow's game, he could go on IR retro to Monday without missing any more games)?
Or, is Brad working on a deal?

I'd say it's a mix of deal/byron's health.

Glad to see Granlund back up, he has earned it.

Granlund's 3rd or 4th recall this year? I have to imagine they believe he'll be a permanent fixture after the trade deadline or something. Otherwise, let him finish the year in Addy and give him a chance to cement a permanent spot next camp.

That rather suggests Byron might be out a bit longer than thought.

Any chance that Sam Bennett is traveling with "Big Bad"? Would seem like a good time to get a few games in...

It's hard to read Treliving. Pretty sure it's just for the Byron injury that Granlund was called up, but maybe he also called up Markus to showcase him too.

Or to give him Glencross' spot after a trade?

It wouldn't be to showcase Granlund. He still has a year left on his ELC and another year of waiver exemption. He's a perfect "tweener" type player for next season if he can't crack the lineup full time. It's extremely unlikely he'll get moved at the deadline.
If anything, having him in Calgary would be to have a capable body in town in case Treliving can close a deal before tomorrow's game that will see a forward leaving town.
Most likely, he's here to cover for Byron.

but why?
Granlund's 35.4% Vs. Jooris' 49.2% in the face-off dot.
