Default Feb 19 Practice - Byron injured. Granlund likely to play vs Ducks. Hiller starts.

Granlund may not have arrived yet from Adirondack. update: Hartley says Granlund likely to play
Quote:
Wes Gilbertson @SUNGilbertson
No sign of #Flames RW Paul Byron at practice today.

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
No Granlund at practice this morning. Byron also absent. #Flames

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Hartley says Byron's injury status is still up in the air. Sounds like a lower body injury. #Flames

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
Hartley also says Granlund will most likely play tomorrow. #Flames
Quote:
Roger Millions @RogMillions
Have to assume Granlund is here because Paul Byron's injury is worse that expected. Believe it is his ankle or foot. #Flames

PP units getting mixed up:
Quote:
Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
David Jones, Mikael Backlund, and Mason Raymond on the second unit PP. Diaz and Giordano on defence.

more info as it comes

Resting an injury or possible trade piece? Any relevant trade rumors floating out there?

I'll be disappointed if Byron remains out for more games. Plays tenaciously and much bigger than his size.

He'd be a great addition to a contending team to slot into a permanent spot on the bottom 6 who could also fill in on the second line if needed. Byron's the kind of guy who would look great in the playoffs in my view, despite his size.

PP units getting mixed up. Brodie and Wideman used to be the d-pairing on this unit

Kristen Odland @KristenOdlandCH
David Jones, Mikael Backlund, and Mason Raymond on the second unit PP. Diaz and Giordano on defence.

No line changes:

Pat Steinberg @Fan960Steinberg
#Flames lines remain the same at practice. Bennett skating as the extra forward. Potter the extra d-man.

Just say no to Raymond on the powerplay! He can't make a pass to save his life. The only time he's effective is when he's going 100 mph; as son as he slows his game down and tries to play a possession game he quickly gives the puck away.

#Flames Curtis Glencross says he's disappointed in how he has been utilized this season. Trade deadline concerns are just part of the game

I find that an odd statement to make especially with this team. You play well, you get put into all types of situations.

Oh good lord...

Funny how the first complaint about Hartley this season comes from Glencross who is probably most deserving of having a reduced role.

Can we get his actual quote rather than a para-phrasing? Sounds like a sensationalist rewording.
