Marleau Joins Jackets

The Jackets took a step further to preparing for the playoffs when the traded for Patrick Marleau from the Winnipeg Jets.

The Jackets targetted Marleau because he was #4 in CPHL C scoring. Eric Staal was OK but we did not feel comfortable going with him on our 2nd line down the stretch. We have also never been a fan of Eric Staal's NHL game and really dont see him gettig back to those career high's.

Marleau is not a stranger to the Jackets. He is always solid and we hope he can help us more and take ev n more pressure off Getzlaf.

Really needed a shakeup. Marleau has been playing well in the SIM though, but the Jets results have not been there.

Staal will likely rerate down and then can be gridded at a reasonable rate before he starts trending up again.
