Bookies in Philly beware! Vanek leafs Toronto

The Leafs and Flyers were able to strike another deal today:

TO PHILADELPHIA
RW Thomas Vanek

Giving up Vanek was tough because he's been my top scorer this season and he's clicked with every single linemate I put him with. However, he's also a pending UFA, so I put him on the trade block a while ago. Received quite a few offers, but Philly was the only team to pay up what I wanted: a cheaper RFA-aged forward plus a good prospect. Frolik is a solid 2nd line winger with two RFA years back, and I'm a big fan of McCoshen ... I drafted him myself and traded him to Philly in a deal for Johnny Boychuk a few weeks ago, and I'm excited to have him back in the fold.

That also means that for the first time in my CPHL career, there will be no Austrian in the system.



Will surely try to acquire Austrian players again in the future though ...

That was a quick deal. Nielsen wanted a better linemate so he gets Vanek. I will re-sign Vanek, even his bad season he will still put up 50 or so points.
