Couple terrifies local residents by roaming around parks in creepy masks

A strange masked couple, thought to be armed, have handed themselves into police after terrifying local residents.
A man and a woman wearing white hockey masks stalked parkland areas in the city of Auckland, New Zealand, for up to three weeks according to reports.
Police responded with armed officers after they received a number of calls about the pair carrying what looked like firearms.
One witness was conveniently a film student at Auckland SAE Institute. He wrote in a blog post, shared on Live Leak, that he spotted them while filming a skit and initially thought they were ‘playing a prank’.

In the 1980s we used to drive around the city wearing goalie masks and ski masks. We got some strange looks.

Creepy. Of course, Parnell Station is located close to where all the rich urban types live and play (think Kensington-area) . . . Lot's of older folks and tourists around there too.

Probably just a couple of weirdos trying to get a rise out of people.

I do, however, challenge them to take the train further south and try that in Manukau City (Auckland South) . . . The Maori and Islanders down there probably wouldn't take too kindly to that sort of crap.
