Default Ogilthorpe

Had no idea the character was based on a real guy!

"A new Canadian short film is ready to tell the story of Bill (Goldie) Goldthorpe, a feared rink ruffian who boasts one of the most quietly notorious rookie season in professional hockey history.

We know what you’re thinking: “Who Whatthorpe?”

Perhaps you’re more familiar with the onscreen character he inspired — Ogie Ogilthorpe of Slap Shot’s Charlestown Chiefs, — who you can see lacing up his skates in the clink in the trailer for Ogilthorpe."

There was a book called the Rebel League that was about the WHA, there was basically a whole chapter dedicated to him.

He was some kinda crazy.

C'mon Metro, Ogie didn't play for the Chiefs.
