From the press release it sounds like Gaudreau and the other rookies will only be taking part in the skills competition

I find it funny that Roberto Luongo will be going to the all star game while Ryan Miller will not.

RNH? Thought they didn't have to have one player from each team any more?
Elias over Jagr?

I wish they let Johnny play in the game, he'd probably do something spectacular.
Up north, it's nice to see RNH is going instead of Hall.

Was going to say.
He's not a flashy player unfortunately, which means he's going to be overlooked for lesser players.

Who will the captains be? I actually like the new team selection format better than the game itself

The problem is that the All-Star voting had 5 Blackhawks voted on, Toews, Kane, Seabrook Crawford and Keith, and the NHL gave 3 spots to the Blue Jackets. Add that there is 1 representative from each team and a player like Hudler was never going to get a sniff.
Honestly, a lot of players left off deserved to be on there before Hudler.

Hoffman seems a lil' long in the tooth to be a rookie, but apparently he meets the requirements.
