[News] Glencross injured - LBI
Just heard Glencross left the game with a lower body injury. Didn't hear much more about it on the fan. If that is the case do you think Raymond or Granlund draw back in? Baertschi has also been on fire in the AHL. If Glencross hits the IR do we take Ramo off and run with 3 goalies? Some interesting options for Hartley

Damn, got excited there was an update... just speculation at this point, apparently he may have twisted a knee or something?

Heading to the West Coast next for 3 games in 5 nights, if Glencross ends up sidelined, someone in Adirondack will get a call -- maybe Sven.

I was thinking last night that we may actually see Baertschi too if Glennx was injured

Not good for Glenny. He needs this valuable time of the year to show his worth next year for a big pay day.

If Glencross is actually going on IR I would be happy with any call up, but sadly I think Raymond will probably draw back in.

Seems reasonable to expect that if a winger gets injured and we have a healthy winger on the roster who's been scratched, that healthy winger gets to play.

Hopefully he isn't sidelined, we could definitely use his grit against the big California teams.

I'd personally like to see Ferland (is he injured?) or Poirier over Sven. I think the Organization has a firm grasp on where Sven is at and what they expect of him. I think seeing Ferland or Poirier at NHL mid-season speed might be more beneficial to management. Also I think those two actually replace Glencross' attributes (size, speed, grit, shooting) better than Sven, who at his best is a Hudler-type player, of which we have 2 healthy versions of (Hudler and Johnny).

That sucks. He's been having a really good season. It would be nice to see him play close to 82 games for a change.

So if Sven is brought up. Will that work out? I feel like he needs 2nd line minutes and linemates in order to see what he has. The limited minutes with Bouma and other bottom line guys that he seemed to get stuck with last call up weren't doing him any favors.
Probably better off being a top guy in the AHL for the rest of the year until he has a spot suitable for him.

If Raymond draws in for GlenX on this trip that is very, very bad news. Call up Ferland.

He only played 5 mins last night so I'm surprised it wasn't talked about more during the game.
Hopefully if they bring someone up its Poirier or Ferland, would be most useful against the big Pacificos.

Glencross has struck me as a player thats been barely holding it together for a while now, some time on the IR might do him some good.
Granted, we really needed him on this road trip.

I would think that if Glencross goes on the IR, either Raymond or Granlund would draw in. Unless someone in ADK is more deserving, in which case Granlund should be going back down.

Bouma sure didn't get limited minutes last night. he was arguably Calgary's best forward. And Bollig is generally playing well since he got Stajan on his line. If Sven gets the call he needs to perform with whoever his linemates are. I'd suggest that even if Sven plays with Stajan or Shore, as opposed to Monahan or Backlund, they are creative enough players that he should be able to work with them.

He's got a strong enough body of work over the last few years to get a significant raise from some team this summer.

For me, it's less about "more deserving" and more about, "Ok, we have a good read on Granlund, he's NHL calibre. Let's see who else might be NHL calibre."
Treliving has said more than a few times that he believes there are people on the farm that are ready. This is the perfect time to test those guys IMO.

The bigger problem is that, if it is a lingering injury, it may hinder a rental trade to a contender for him, which is bad for both him and the Flames.
