Default Elite Centers 101

http://www.theplayerstribune.com/bes...rs-in-the-nhl/

I thought this was a great read.

Logan Couture, center of the San Jose Sharks, breaks down how the other elite centers play and how effective they are. I think it's good to get a perspective from an actual player rather than an NHL analyst.

Couture seems like a pretty knowledgeable guy.

Great find FFF. He could of had a gif when the Sedins did that sick tip pass against our Flames. On second thought, I'm glad he didn't have that.

Great read. Definitely nice to hear the opinion of a player rather than some random TV personality.

Obviously not a centre, but the comments about Crosby and Datsyuk going wide made me think of Gaudreau. He has that ability to take the puck outside the defender into the offensive zone and make things happen. A couple examples are that Wideman goal from earlier in the year where he put it in out of the air after Gaudreau rifled a pass just a few inches off the ice to his tape in front and the hat trick goal against LA where he used his backhand and it went in off the defender's skate. I think he has the same sense as Crosby and players like the Sedins where they throw the puck into areas where they know it is dangerous and hard to deal with when there isn't necessarily a scoring opportunity. A lot of it is putting the puck at enough pace to get bounces that are trouble for the defence and goalie.

That was great. But strange - the only gif that didn't play for me was him getting beat by Datsyuk.

I searched the forum for "couture" in titles and was very close to reposting, but thought it was way too fishy this wasn't here yet :P Good thing I checked.

This was an awesome article, I thought he broke things down in a really easy to understand kind of way, liked the points about crosby's leg strength. Watching him in that gif really is amazing.

OK now we need a Johnny stick handling montage from AC and compare it to a Datsyuk stick handling montage
