Building an Inner City House LF: Architect

We're in the process of a building a house, independently and I was hoping on some feedback to the process. Specifically if anyone can recommend a good architect they have worked with previously.

One advice: invest in good architectural design, don't cheap out. It pays off.

These guys are excellent for individual inner city/infill housing design. They will consult with your neighbours, to make sure their concerns are heard and, if necessary, will defend the design at SDAB, if your Development Permit is appealed by someone.

Finding a builder should be easier this year too.

Another vote for Marvin Dejong if you want one of the best residential architects in the city (in my opinion). His fee schedule does reflect that though.

As a designer myself, having worked on many inner city homes including some of Marvin's projects I suggest you don't forget to consider the value of an interiors specialist if you want to take finishings up to the quality level of the overall architecture.
